Drawing down troops in Europe is not a Peace Dividend.
Those of us old enough to remember, having two armored divisions forward based in Europe does have an impact on the world's balance of power.
Removing the remaining brigades will not enhance our national security, nor reduce the costs of maintaining the peace. Maintaining the peace means having a reliable force or enough substance, with the logistics and transportation necessary to provide a quick response.
Speaker Gingrich either does not understand the role our forces around the world play, or is again victim of his own intellectualism. By the way, I don't believe in Man Made Global Warming, either.

Gingrich does one thing well: talk.
It's the only thing Bams does well (when he has a teleprompter).
I don't like Bams, and I don't need Newt.
Who does that leave?
The strongest ideological contender is Cain, but even he ticks me off. And he lacks organization, and he lacks fund-raising. Those are both pretty critical.
My rule for this election is, "don't make the perfect the enemy of the good."
What attracts me to Cain, as I was attracted to Palin, is a simple commitment to the individual, the power of liberty and freedom, and the reliance upon others to take care of themselves and make correct decisions for themselves when it comes to their choices, for family, for housing, for what type of job they work, their own values in planning for both the day-to-day, and for the future.
I am not a fan of central planning. It doesn't work. It hasn't worked. It won't work in the future. Regardless of the number of victims we're protecting.
Herman Cain has all the qualifications to adopt victim-hood. That he chose differently is testament to his own choices and the benefits of freedom and liberty.
What could he do to help fill in some holes? Why not let us know what books he's reading, or what advisers he's talking to?

Absolutely correct, which is one of several reasons why I like him. Can he put together organization needed to win? That's still up in the air.
